I love TI but fam not better than Jay Z, and Wayne has as many bad projects as great ones. Wayne's peak was unreal but after like 2013 he's been artistically stagnant. He can RAP, but his subject matter is redundant and limited. Tha Carter VI showed how limited he is as an artist
The GNX hate is crazy, especially when yall only can compare it to his earlier work and not the field. That says alot. With that said, the album is a classic, and that tells you how many he has if its not his best album.
Agreed. Don't disrespect the artform that gave you a platform. Especially when you're not writing all of your raps. He didn't even give anything country on his last album outside of the features. Didn't do a single hook on that album.
That's because the "media" isn't the only way to get information out. It was gossip in those publications as well. Its a bunch of people and platforms talking about the music now, its more spread out. Artists and these platforms need to bridge the gap though.
There is a world where we acknowledged the conflicting messaging in J Cole's retelling of events in these interviews. He's at war with 3 different personas in his head at the same time.
I can honestly see JayZ seeing himself in Drake as they both were in compromising positions last year concerning "misconduct". In defending Drake, he is also defending his own name from scrutiny.
This is what I mean... he had a real plan to stage a bloodless coup and run off into the sunset without having to get active, while steering the narrative with a soft punch in 7MD and ended up escalating the battle and hurting his image
