This Sambar deer was trapped for days in an illegal snare in Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary (KSWS) of Mondulkiri province. It was lucky to be found by the KSWS team and is now free.

Cantor's giant softshell turtles are Critically Endangered. WCS Cambodia and partners have been working to conserve the species since 2017. To improve survivorship, the team protects the turtles during their most vulnerable days. Recently, 148 were released into the Mekong River.

Last week, WCS Wildlife Monitoring Team spotted a new nest of giant ibis while they were on their way to install camera traps to monitor the presence of Eld’s deer in northern Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary. The nest is the first found during the nesting season of 2021.
