Congratulations to Teddy and Sophie! They won the class competition for writing a free verse poem on why they are responsible enough to have a pet dog (and they did a fantastic job!). Their poems beautifully incorporated parentheses to add extra thoughts and details.

Our World War 2 day has kicked off in style with half the group making some traditional rationing recipes and the other half doing some wonderful drama. We can't wait to see what we're up to for the rest of the day!

Our afternoon saw us experience a 1939 school room, air raid and fire and bomb drills. The children have done us proud today, demonstrating fantastic respect and listening skills well done Year 6!

Year 2 visited Hill Head beach school and had a lovely day scouring the beach, making beach art and learning about the different items they found.

Our busiest day was a roaring success - kayaking, raft building, orienteering, archery and low ropes. Our favourite activity was the kayaking!

What an amazing day! Bushcraft cooking was a real highlight. We learnt how to light fires, prepare a vegetable stew, bake bread on an open fire, prepare chicken and even how to gut a fish! Great experiences we’ll never forget.

When we weren't cooking up a feast in the forest, we were 'bridging the moat'. We learnt how to make sturdy tripods, how to set up a tightrope (of course we had to test them) and then used these skills to send a package across the moat.

Last week, some lucky year 5 pupils took part in a STEM event at Collingwood College. They made wooden aliens, rockets and flexagons - impressing the organisers with their teamwork and excellent manners. Good luck at the awards ceremony!

The new reception classes and the move to the old reception classroom for Year 1 is nearly complete. To save money, staff and caretakers have all lent a hand painting too. Thanks to Paul Jenkins who kindly gave up his time to remove all the toilets for new ones to be installed.
