It’s okay to judge a game from the literal second you start playing, if it takes 100 hours to “get good” it’s a bad game. I will continue providing first impressions because for the vast majority of gamers that’s all they really experience within any given game anyway.

Every amazing lead designer I've ever met has been a difficult personality. They are bold, argumentative and pushy. They also get shit done. But as AAA became corporate I saw a lot of them being pushed out because they were not safe and bland. I think the results are telling.
