When snow and wind combine! Rime and snow flutings on the #Helvellyn summit shelter. Challenging navigation in whiteout conditions to find this sanctuary. Goggles, crampons, an ice axe, 4 pairs of gloves, map & compass & coffee were all essential for a safe adventure today. Zac

There's not a huge amount of snow left apart from on the highest #lakedistrict summits but its forecast to freeze overnight so #crampons & #iceaxe will be required for anyone venturing onto the snow on Wed #summitsafely #beadventuresmart Zac
