Queer Poetry Collective ✨ at The Common Press Bookshop this week was epic. Such an amazing vibe! Thanks surrender dorothy & @p_scalpello for being our guest poets, and to all the open mic audience. All ticket sales went to Common Press. Queer poetry for queer causes ✊

James Merrill began this beautiful poem in December 1994 and completed it in a hospital bed in February 1995, shortly before he died from an AIDS-related illness. It appeared in Poetry magazine later the same year.
