Helping to set Culture and Communities Week off with a bang here’s our Astronomy Group! A visit to Science Museum saw three students selected as volunteers for the Rocket Show in the Wonderlab where they ably demonstrated Newton’s three laws of motion! #Balham #enrichment

💫 Out of this world! 💫 The Astronomy Group enjoyed a brilliant stargazing session thanks to a 9m wide inflatable planetarium set up in the school hall! The event was one of 50 separate activities happening as part of our second annual Culture and Communities Week. #Balham

The Isle of Wight’s alright! Some of our Year 7s chose to go slightly further afield for their Culture and Communities Week activity, setting sail for the glorious Isle of Wight. Students have been enjoying the challenge of the giant swing, laser tag, kayaking and much more!

Extraordinarily ordinary! Our Digital Media Group have completed a unique sound-based workshop, turning our everyday environment into music. From footsteps & playground chatter to birdsong, students recorded a range of sounds and learnt how to arrange them into original tracks

With over 50 activities taking place in the space of three days our thumbs have struggled to keep up! 😉 Here are some cracking digital images processed by the Astronomy Group who have also been using the 2m Liverpool robotic telescope to make observations. #Balham

With festival season well underway we like to think it was our very own ‘Chestival’ in July that got the party started! Held to celebrate the rich culture at our school, this year’s ‘Chestival’ featured a fab line-up of student performers, an art exhibition and food trucks 1/2
