Our Science topic this term is materials. The children really enjoyed experimenting today to find the best material for an umbrella, although it's not very often we'd need one here in the desert ☀️

Love the flowers I received for teachers appreciation day. Its not always about the gift, but puts a smile on my face when parents recognise the hard work you do 😊

A naughty monster came into school this week and stole our toys! The children produced some fantastic writing, making warning signs and wanted posters. They've not stopped finding clues all week that could lead them to the monster.

Absolutely loved the first series, can't wait to catch up on the new episode. A little behind out here in the desert, hope I can find something to watch it on!

Lots of different activities to support children in their consonant blends this week. Adding words to the blender, making silly sentences, does the sound end in... question cards and a general enthusiasm to write ✏

Keeping up with the kids workshops for parents today, a long 12 hour day in school. I'm officially ready for bed now!

This week our Year 1s have Enterprise week. Good job we're working on our understanding of money "Miss, we don't need to make anything, we can just print money on the computer." "Miss, we can sell my house!" "Miss, can I use the money to buy a house for my wife when I'm old?"

We have been weaving teddy bears and some of the children found it a little tricky. The joys of having the secondary school on site, is that the design department made us a weaving loom, to continue practising as a nice little CP activity. The children are loving it!

It's been a busy week writing reports, completing our hot write information texts and putting our pitch together for Enterprise week. So proud of my Year 1s and how amazing there pitch was, here's our final ideas...
