Reporting near-misses are integral because they allow researchers like us to better understand where there are areas of potential danger for future crashes. Report yours today at WalkRollMap.org

It is back to school season! Parents and guardians as your kids start their commutes to school do you know of any intersections or roads that you worry about them crossing. Report these locations to WalkRollMap.org 📍

Pedestrians, please stop scurrying across the street just because you see a driver waiting to turn. You have every right to be in the crosswalk and to walk at a pace that is comfortable for you. The driver can wait their turn.

A further reminder to motorists.... Always keep your front driver and passenger-side windows rolled down and your radio off, so you can hear other road users and not crush them to death with your motor vehicle.

Let's get this straight- the pedestrian is crossing at a marked crosswalk, hit the flashing lights, and somehow she is to blame??? What on earth is this messaging. There is nothing illegal about wearing black or listening to headphones while walking.

On the same night #saanich council is discussing the Active Transportation Plan, a pedestrian is struck near Cedar Hill rec. On average, a pedestrian is killed every 1-2 years in Saanich, usually in a x walk. Lives are on the line. ATP roll out asp! timescolonist.com/local-news/saa…

Saanich has come a long way in improving walkability, cyclability & building out a walking & cycling network. The updated AT plan is a road map for the next 5 years to make our roads & trails safer & easier for everyone to get to get around. 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🧑‍🦽🚌🚗 timescolonist.com/local-news/upd…
