Can you find Hereward the Wake in Peterborough Cathedral? The folk hero of the Fens was excommunicated for sacking the Monastery, but holds a position of honour within the Cathedral. Do you know where he is..?

29th June 1068, Hereward was knighted at Peterborough Abbey. On Sunday at 1pm outside Peterborough Cathedral. 957 years later we commemorate him. It begins the process of seeking a posthumous Absolution of Hereward's excommunication in 1070. All welcome! Herewardthewake.co.uk

#Hereward (Rory G) looking up at the window of Hugh Candidus at the Feast of St. Peter Peterborough Cathedral on Sunday. Hugh's 12thC Chronicle describes Hereward's brutal attack on #Peterborough in 1070. Our quest is to get Hereward's excommunication absolved by the Church.
