"Not a single word was uttered at the Emmys about the assassination, days before, of Charlie Kirk, arguably the most high-profile killing of a political figure since the ’60s in this country. You know, the one where the Emmys take place, and where its nominees presumably live.

This is the biggest issue that needs to be solved right now as it relates to data center & on-site power plant builds. Incentives should be aligned for both data centers and power plant owners, as it is mutually assured risk of destruction to both sides if not solved.

Prediction: The immediate solve here will (likely) be grid forming inverters + BESS. NVIDIA and others will solve at chip and rack level in parallel but will take a few years to catch up. In the meantime, this should enable a mass deployment of batteries deployed out of

There are some brilliant folks that work at Anthropic, some I speak to on almost a daily basis. The training data that one uses to build a LLM is vital important in the psychology that is formed. Scraping the Internet, particularly the grade of interactions, one finds in

According to a recent study from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, data centers seem to have reduced household electricity costs where they're built. I don't think this is the final word, but I'd be interested in any concrete criticism of this study specifically. Like

“The most important piece is that many data centres aren’t going to connect to the power system,” said Phillips. “They’re going to be power islands.”

Can we do user friendly, open-source community app builds? I used Claude to build an app that replaces Blue Apron and organizes our weekly shopping/meal planning. It uses AI to generate recipes, auto-updates our weekly grocery list and creates a weekly meal plan. Cost savings

Most people are running incredibly destructive programs without realizing it. "I'm so tired." "I'm getting old." "I can't handle stress." "I'm not a morning person." "I have a bad back." They think they're just describing reality. But they're creating it.

I think this will accelerate the need for on-prem servers, with local LLM/memory w/ max RAM and GPU's. During outages (models or internet), switch workflow to local and you are still operational.

Realizing gas capacity is a major upper bound on building power infra to support compute demand (on earth). Upper bound at project level is supply chain and labor/EPC, but at macro level, it is bound by gas capacity, which creates an upper bound on compute capacity (until we go

Interesting way for AI to unlock microgrid's at scale in resi and commercial. Max out solar, BESS, (include generator). Homeowner pays fixed price for energy + internet with promise of data center resiliency (grid independent), with microgrid providing max power to drive max $
