Troopers from the Royalton Barracks teamed up with New Hampshire State Police Saturday night for a joint traffic enforcement detail on I-89 near the VT/NH line. Despite rainy conditions, the effort focused on deterring aggressive driving and keeping the roadway safe.

The Underwater Recovery Team conducted dive training on Lake Champlain last week. With the team ready to respond at any time, training and preparedness remain a top priority year-round. Winter dives bring harsh conditions, summer dives bring the views.

Trooper Chris Hein recently stopped a vehicle after observing a small child being held in the back seat without a car seat. Vermont law requires children to be properly restrained in a car seat until age 8 or until they meet the seat manufacturer’s height and weight limits.

Over the past three weeks, the 120th Pre-Basic class took on a variety of physical and mental challenges. Today they graduate and begin the 17-week basic training academy on Monday. Best of luck to the 120th as they continue their journey to becoming Vermont State Troopers.
