A tribunal has allowed ministers to continue to hide vital information from scores of secret reports into deaths of universal credit claimants, just as they publish a new bill that will have a major impact on the working-age benefits system. #DWP disabilitynewsservice.com/tribunal-allow…

“Scrap Motability” Congrats you’ve saved “the taxpayer” precisely £0. You’ve also created thousands of job losses, closed several car dealerships, and hugely inflated the cost of used cars… whilst making life harder for disabled people.

Disability Rebellion is proud to announce an online protest on the day of the third reading of the UC Bill. ⏰ July 9th, 12pm onwards 📍 on all our platforms (see link below for the links) 🗣️ post as much as you can about why the UC bill should be scrapped with the hashtags

Can we please stop with all the “anyone on PIP can get a free car” nonsense. 1 You have to be receiving the highest rate of mobility to be eligible. 2 The upfront costs of a Motability car can run into the thousands depending on the person’s needs and whether or not adaptations

Over 1 in 3 Universal Credit claimants are ALREADY in poverty. Those with health conditions face even higher costs. Now Labour wants MPs to vote on WEDNESDAY to CUT UC health payments in HALF. We’re not just failing vulnerable people - we’re doubling disadvantage. #BinUCBill

Hundreds of thousands of people in poverty will still lose £thousands because of the Universal Credit Bill. Julia Modern from the Disability Poverty Campaign Group explains how impact assessments hide the reality. Tell your MP to vote against the bill: inclusionlondon.org.uk/campaigns-and-…

For it seems the 12th time, I am walking between places speed reading as the government dropped an impact assessment LESS THAN 24 HOURS before a vote. This is scandalous for anything let alone changing something as huge with consequences for hundreds of thousands as welfare.

I fear today's debates will pass without a mention of #DWPDeaths and the risk to thousands of disabled claimants of universal credit if this bill passes. So leaving this here from this am in Westminster Hall, cos MPs already have the evidence. #BinUCBill thedepartmentbook.com

Laughable that people think taking all money away from disabled people and their carers will give them a tax cut. Have you seen the cost of care homes? Because that's where most will end up- paid for by you.

This will stop many people with chronic conditions going to see their GP. It will also see lots of people with mental illnesses not reaching out for support. So, so dangerous. DWP should be nowhere near healthcare.
