Here it is, two microstrip traces with a 10 mil gap in the return plane, in summary even though it's a small gap, the return current needs to go all the way around the gap and also there's still an effect on the adjacent trace.

Repaired this 40 year old memo scriber from Sanyo in a recent Boulder U-fixit event. There were a couple of issues, old capacitors and belt was very loose. Replacing those two fixed it. #repair #righttorepair

Just finished a prototype of a bike computer, designed around Silicon Labs EFR32BG21. 2 client nodes with hall sensors communicating odometer and cadence data back to the principal node. With a sharp 2.7 inch LCD device runs for about 20 days on a single charge.

The navigation notifications on Wear OS are much improved these days, particularly for biking. No need to mount the phone, and no more risk of damaging the camera lens due to vibrations.
