Why can people receiving SNAP ( Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) $$$ for "free" food paid for by taxpayers allowed to buy candy and soda pop and other non nutritional items with the "free" money? Why are 1 of 8 Americans receiving SNAP when in 1970 only 1 in 50 were?

Also, Secy of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, announced when she took over Department February 2025 she found illegals and dead people receiving SNAP benefits. Food stamps should be used only for those who really need them. Red states working on cleaning up issue but not Blue.
