While everyone has the right to peaceful protest, the targeting and harassment of health-care workers at health-care facilities today is completely unacceptable. We stand by our health-care workers and support them fully.

Today I was threatened, followed, called disgusting, called a liar, told to remove my mask and eventually forced to leave Victoria's anti-vax card protest. Being a journalist is hard enough without fearing for your safety, but we aren't going anywhere. Stories matter. CTV News Vancouver Island

The bitter irony here is that if any of these people get sick with COVID, this hospital they’re surrounding is the first place they will run. The health-care workers they harass are the first people they will seek out for help.

I am without words tonight. How have we gone from banging pots and pans and hailing our health care workers as heroes to this?
