To understand how mad this is - consider Lesotho with an average monthly salary of ~$800 - now hit with a 50% tariff for its denim and diamond exports - what does Trump expect them to buy from the USA to neutralise the trade deficit?

What an absolute legend Loves horses and racing. Pours his own money and time into the sport and often comes out on top against the full time pros. Hats off Mr Maxwell !

Skelton is Ā£35k ahead and got most of his stable entered next week. Willie will surely win more at sandown, but might not be enough. Dan a bet at 3.5 isn’t he?

For all the moralists today, it should be noted that gambling on the next Pope was one of the first ever historical examples of election betting. If you are caught you do get excommunicated from the church though.

Reasonable argument on year end figures that Olly Murphy has had the best season. Over half of all horses won a race, highest win rate amongst the big ones too. Could see Jamie Snowdon, James Owen and Harry Derham breaking into top 10 next year

Jordan is spot on here Regulated markets must offer attractive products with limited friction otherwise there will be no players left with regulated operators and gambling harm will increase as the black market takes over

25 runners across a 6-race card at Warwick this evening. Basically just like point to point / just for connections isn’t it?

- State school teachers down not up - Children forced out of schools in the middle of academic year - Loss of high quality education Total failure already, and getting worse. A policy of spite and levelling down that damages the country. Taxing education is impossible to justify

Racing podcasts as competitive as the royal hunt cup, but this one does a good job of covering big industry issues in a balanced and informative way

Education and debt interest are both c5%. Health is c10%. Social security is c15%. All other is c10% (transport, justice, housing, industry etc). Looks like government spending trending to majority of GDP here

Gambling is enjoyed by over 20 million people in the country. Not just safely, but it massively enhances their lives. Stigmatising gambling as a public health ill is totally wrong, and is more likely to lead to greater gambling harm as it’s pushed underground
