There were four Power 4 tight ends with at least 600 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns in 2024: Mackey Award winner Tyler Warren (Penn State), Oronde Gadsden II (Syracuse), Gunnar Helm (Texas) and Eli Stowers (Vandy). Stowers is the only one returning in 2025.

The school-record seven turnovers lost by Vanderbilt Football were the fewest in FBS this year and the first time the Dores had single-digit turnovers in a season. It matched the fewest turnovers by an FBS team since Oregon State had six in 2019 (excluding shortened 2020 season).

Pavia set Vandy records for rushing yards by a QB and the fewest interceptions in a season (min. 250 att.). Stowers had the second-most receiving yards by a Vandy tight end since 1996 and became just the sixth tight end since '96 with a 100-yard receiving game against Alabama.

Ashby is the fourth specialist drafted out of Vanderbilt, joining John Markham (2001 Giants), Ricky Anderson (1985 Cardinals) and Jim Arnold (1983 Kansas City). He is the first Commodore drafted by New England since Joejuan Williams in 2019.
