Pair programming is a beautiful practice, and I respect those who can do it day-in, day-out. But I would not want to be a programmer if I had to do it all the time. I need not merely long stretches of uninterrupted time, but outright solitude to flourish.

Clear pattern emerging on Indian airlines especially Vistara & IndiGo .. when they don’t have enough load on a flight, they cancel last minute with impunity & without giving any reasons and combine with an earlier or later flight and call it ‘rescheduling’ … Pls RT so

Do new developers study design patterns anymore or do they just start slinging code and hope for the best? Here are design patterns I've used over the years that have made life easy ⬇️

what parents think kids are up to when living alone: sex, drugs, sex, awaaragradi, alcohol what kids are up to when living alone: juggling rent, phone, internet, food bill, anxiety and depression, social obligations, career, personal growth projects, lack of sleep, health

I love Stripe's visual design as much as everyone else. But every time I see a non-Stripe site with a skewed background I cringe a little bit (SadIy, I've been guilty of this too). BTW, incase you didn't notice, the skewed background mimics Stripe's logo:

Dr. RS Sharma is not going like this twitter thread, but here it goes about the really rubbish Android App that TRAI puts out for "Spam" Detection. For context look at this report from Reuters. Link: in.reuters.com/article/apple-… All code is obtained via dex2jar. 👇

6. And finally the permissions list is as usual everything, when all you need is READ_SMS and INTERNET. No wonder Apple said no, because even READ_SMS is frowned upon in IOS. May be Mr. Sharma, you have to fix these issues first? #

I legit spent 5 hours on an issue last Thursday and fixed it in 3 minutes today. Important reminder to take breaks on stubborn issues. I told myself to take a break and come back to it, but I didn’t - huge waste of time!

My most cherished luxuries: All the sleep (8.5h+), none of the ⏰. A flow of clean, filtered air. Regular exercise driven by an instructor. Fresh, home-cooked meals. A view of nature and water. Meaningful work for 40h/wk (or less). Two kids and a wife to love and laugh with.
