40 URNU OCs from Belfast, VirtualURNU URNU Glasgow and EdinburghURNU learned some basic fieldcraft & survival this weekend at Ballykinler. Fighting through some truly awful freezing rain to complete leadership exercises, they also participated in a NEO Ex with HMS HIBERNIA ⚓️

In February URNU Glasgow hosted our first mess dinner of 2024 - a slightly belated Burns Night. We were lucky to be joined by many esteemed guests including our guest of honour Hon. Capt Paul Little OBE, HMS CHARGER crew and alumni from recent years.

Recently, OCs took part in a Marinisation weekend, allowing them to gain key navigation and seamanship skills. Day 1 consisted of chart work and navigation theory. The following day, they were lucky to have the opportunity to join pilot vessel SD ORONSAY. #LearnTodayLeadTomorrow

Celebrating a slightly belated Burns Night, cadets at URNU Glasgow had an amazing night of good food, good company, and hilarious acting. Celebrating the immortal memory of Robert Burns, Scottish traditions, and to a bright future for the unit.

Cadets from #URNU Glasgow joined their counterparts from across the UK at the International Forum of Peace, Security and Prosperity in Palermo, Italy. Here they engaged in activities to learn how armed forces around the world can navigate an increasingly unstable world.

This September, six members of URNU Glasgow completed a half-marathon at the The Great North Run in Newcastle.
