Recall that Air Canada let negotiations break down over 1) wanting to keep extracting unpaid labour out of their flight attendants; and 2) wanting to keep junior flight attendants grossly underpaid. Gov’t should let management explain their position to the public.

This may expedite aspects of the Courts determining whether the Minister can unilaterally direct the Labour Board to end strikes via section s.107. If the Courts find that there is no such power, then no fines can be levied against the union. A rule of law principle #cdnlaw
