Sanctuary researchers are asking for help in locating 2 missing research "tags" used to study large whales. The units are ~6 in, look like a toy bug, with suction cup feet and antennae on its "head." The tags could wash ashore anywhere along the MA Coast. (1/2)

If you find the tag, use the contact information on the unit or email [email protected]. The sanctuary staff and research partners appreciate your help in getting this tag back home. (2/2)

Check out our work highlighted on pages 17-18 of this report! Funding through the Prescott Grant Program allows us to continue investigating marine mammal strandings and collaborating with research partners. These activities are vital for marine conservation. 🐋

It's very concerning to hear about how bad the sea ice conditions are this year from a captain that has been coming down to #Antarctica for the last 30 years, Data supports what they and we are seeing. The impacts from #climatechange are already here. #weneedtodobetter

We are down in #Antarctica in the middle of winter, south of the Antarctic Circle, and it’s 8.6C (47.5F). This is not ok… There is no ice. We need to do better. #ClimateCrisis #GlobalWarming #B038 #ClimateEmergency #research UNCW @ExeterMarine

saying “i am bad at this” -defeatist -will make you sad -removes the possibility for improvement saying “a whale would be impressed by my ability” -encouraging -always true because whales don’t even have thumbs and also appreciate effort -makes you think about whales

Artificial lights near nesting beaches threaten adult female sea turtles hauling out to nest. As they're approaching a beach from the sea, they will instinctively seek out dark places to deposit their eggs. Bright lights can deter them from coming ashore at all. #FunFactFriday
