Not only is the weather wild in Knoxville today ☔️, Cohort 4 also has its EPP Learning Day and they are really bringing engagement to the table! 😄 Groups are presenting abt Educational & Behavioral Theorists and candidates dive deeper into assessment practices.⚡️⛈️

At today’s KCS_EPP coaching visit: Morgan Co CTE had the Be Pro Be Proud Tennessee truck there for kids to explore simulated trades. Saw Mr Smith, Ms Kidd & Ms Walker there 😊 Then on to Dr No in Oak Ridge-good to see the SCRUM method still being used!

Last Friday, an KCS_EPP coaching visit took me to Grainger and Union Counties. Mr Cornett assessed fillet welds🔥, Mr Hodge taught measurements via making cinnamon buns😋, Ms Sexton playfully reviewed for a quiz next week, and Ms Holmes had a bone scavenger hunt 🦴

I was in Anderson Co Schools for KCS_EPP coaching visits yesterday, observing Ms Hutchins in Crim Justice 👮🏼, Mr Hagen in Digital Arts 📸 and Ms Robinson in Health Science 🧫. Now in their 2nd year with the EPP, their growth as teaching professionals is evident!! Great job! 👏🏻

Yesterday’s KCS_EPP coaching visits to Hamblen Co Schools: 1st & 2nd yr CTE instructors teach students valuable career skills in Health Science (Ms Barnett), Culinary (Ms Lamb), Cosmetology (Ms Bennett), Construction (Mr Clark) & Comp Science (Mr Waddell)!

Today’s KCS_EPP coaching visits took me to beautiful Blount Co. Ms Alexander assessed her students’ 9 part sectioning & perm ✂️, Mr McMurray’s students built a prop house for Theatre 🏠, and Chef Sutton’s kids made pizza dough-to be covered & baked tomorrow 😋

Lenoir City & Loudon Co HSs have 2 new instructors in our KCS_EPP: Mr Murphy teaches Business & is preparing his students to open a school store. Mr Boyd‘s Digi Arts class produces the daily announcements & started learning abt photoshop today. LenoirCitySch LoudonCounty Schools

It was a beautiful day for a drive to Cocke County and Alcoa for KCS_EPP coaching visits. Mr Huffhines 📐practiced correct measuring, Ms Owen’s students calculated profits💰, and Ms Dills 🚑showed hers how to use an AED properly. Cocke Co. Schools CTE_Patty

These KCS_EPP teachers are in their 2nd yr of the EPP & working for Knox County CTE. Ms Mitchell in Health Sc. taught the circulatory system ♥️ today & Mr Quinton in AV Prod. covered frames & angles in movies🎥 (at Powell). Ms Campbell at Central analyzed social media📱w/her students.

At today’s KCS_EPP coaching visit to SDHS & AE: Ms Rhodes going over ❤️rhythms, Mr Henry models proper sanding of a 🚙, Mr Huettel’s students check their store’s inventory 🧁 & Mr Ellis prepares his for making 🥗 dressings. Hard to motivate students sometimes but hands-on helps!

Yesterday’s KCS_EPP coaching visits in Morgan County Schools: Ms Jade warns of HIPAA in Health Science 🏥, Ms Walker’s students create the Nov menu for their cafe in Supply Chain ☕️, and Mr Smith’s students in Machining bevel metal pieces in prep for welding 🔥.

Our 5 KCS_EPP candidates in Hamblen Co had a coaching visit yesterday and shined: Mr Clark🔨, Mr Waddell 💻, Ms Lamb 🧑‍🍳, Ms Bennett🪮, and Ms Barnett 🩺 Their students work on real-life projects or issues and win at competitions! 👏🏻

Mr Hagen 📸, Ms Robinson🩸, Ms Hutchinson 👮🏼(not pic’d), and Mr No🔧 were on my KCS_EPP coaching list today. Guest speakers from industry & engaging their students in hands on assignments is nothing new for these new teachers-That’s how they roll! 😎

Last Friday, the 10th annual JA Miss Business event took place UT Knoxville & I feel honored to have been a part of it from Year 1! Over 200 young ladies from local high schools had a chance to hear from female leaders & engage in career related activities. 💖 JA of East Tennessee

Attended my first CBExchange Conference this week & am leaving inspired! Higher Ed, K-12, workforce & other experts came together to discuss competency based education in sessions on Employer Partnerships, Talent Management, CTE, AI, Teacher Prep, Apprenticeships & more.

This week’s KCS_EPP coaching visits happened in Union, Grainger, Cocke and Loudon Counties as well as in Lenoir City. Our candidates teach anything from Business to Welding and are getting our TN kids ready for the workforce! 💚

Our KCS_EPP instructor Judy Siebert was out for coaching visits at Fulton HS & Campbell Co HS recently, observing Ms Anderson (Health Sc), Mr Skeans (Crim Just) & Mr Baird (Constr.). In follow up’s, the teachers’ strengths are highlighted & goals set for continuous improvement!
