Today the Delaware Senate passed a bill that will save lives. Today we honor the advocates, the survivors, and the Delawareans lost to gun violence.

This is a moment that calls for real action and Delaware Democrats in the State Senate have been busy during the first few months of this year. From college affordability to paid leave to criminal justice reform, there is still so much to do as we head back into session this week.

The House just passed the bill to grant D.C. official statehood. This is about democracy. It’s about self-government. It’s about voting rights. I was proud to re-introduce this bill in the Senate, and we are working to make #DCStatehood a reality.

The DE GOP endorsed a similar slate of candidates. It has long been a tactic of the Republican Party to try & sneak radically conservative candidates into office who they know would otherwise be unpopular in higher profile, higher turnout elections. Get informed & vote May 11.

Today, voters in Red Clay and Brandywine sent a resounding message that our public schools should welcome and embrace every child. Congratulations to Kecia Nesmith and Kim Stock for BSD school board on winning your races! I can't wait to see all that you both do as school board members!
