Heading back to Vancouver, after a 1-week immersed in the forests of Nelson. Students were exposed to a variety of subjects such as ecosystem classification, harvesting and milling procedures, and the community forest model among others. Special thanks to all the guest speakers!

Last week the MSFM class took a trip out to North Vancouver for some forest learning on the relationships between mycorrhizal networks, forest complexity, and ecosystem-based management from the director of the program, Dr. Suzanne Simard.

Students in the Stand Dynamics class had the chance to play Stephen Mitchell's Silva-couture game today! This game is a fun way to demonstrate the aspects of different harvesting systems; Hasbro Games might want to look at adopting it soon!
