Chin-ups aren’t accessories. They’re essentials. Hewitt’s building strength the right way, early. This is how you develop a program that lasts. Props to Steward Carlisle, NHSSCA Original Member

Brandon makes a great point. Not saying neural fatigue doesn't matter... ... but I've found that total weekly stress (lifting + sprinting + practice) matters more for planning. I'm more focused on undulating stress to drive adaptation without burnout than I am about the CNS.

If it saves you time, it’s worth it. As a coach, TIME is your most valuable asset. Don’t spend long summer days buried in spreadsheets when tools like RockDaisyAMS do it for you.

Rolling 40: ▪️Starts clock after a lead-in distance (first yard). Problem: ❌ You’re skipping the slowest, hardest part of the sprint: OVERCOMING INERTIA. Use for: ✅ In-house tracking 🚫 Claiming valid “laser 40” times

If a coach is putting kids at risk or misleading for gain, speak up. But most are doing the best they can with what they know. I do believe “the best way” exists (even if by a narrow margin), but not everyone can execute it yet. If you care, reach out first.

Watch how a simple change in cue completely alters the athlete’s jump strategy and thus the data. This is why consistency is everything in performance testing. If you want reliable data that you can compare over time, be consistent! 📈 📊
