I don't disagree with the pull out, I disagree with the manner in which it was done. The world failed Afghanistan, not just the U.S.A.

I am sickened to see protesters dance on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and desecrate the National War Memorial. Generations of Canadians have fought and died for our rights, including free speech, but not this. Those involved should hang their heads in shame.

So...swastikas aren't representative. The whack MOU to dissolve all govt isn't representative. The organizers aren't representative. The media hate isn't representative. The bigoted/homophobic slurs aren't representative. The anti-vaxx shit isn't representative. Got it. Crystal

No words to describe how insulting, degrading and desecrating this is, to stand on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which represents more than 100 000 of Canada’s dead who gave their lives for our freedoms and the right to protest. This is literally dancing on their grave.

Note: If your idea of a super fun Canada Day-type street party involves Nazi and Confederate flags - and you just can’t fathom why some of your fellow Canadians might view such flags with horror and terror, instead of wry amusement - you have led a remarkably privileged life.

Freedom of expression, assembly, and association are cornerstones of democracy; but Nazi symbolism, racist imagery, and desecration of war memorials are not. It is an insult to memory and truth.

New: Rocks were hurled at an Ottawa ambulance and racial slurs at the paramedic from a truck that was part of the protest convoy, says Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson. Paramedics working downtown asked for police escorts because they didn't feel safe.

On the news I keep hearing that one of the reasons for the Ottawa protest is “freedom”. Tell me another country in the world that would put up with what’s going on now in order to respect your right to “peaceful protest”. The protestors are not interested in peaceful protest!

Top 5 regrets of the dying: 1. I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself 2. I wish I had not work so hard 3. I wish I had the courage to express my feelings 4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends 5. I wish that I had let myself be happier

The Ottawa Police are arresting high school students who are protesting their school dress code out in Orleans today. Wonder if the police would have acted differently if the high school kids parked their cars in the middle of the road instead? ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-student…

They were fishermen, merchants, teachers, the would-be leaders of a small nation.   On July 1, 1916, some 800 Newfoundlanders went over the top at Beaumont Hamel. More than 700 were killed, wounded, or missing the next morning.   Please remember the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.

For those of you who think your children must go to college. My husband just retired at 55. I was able to stay home with our son. We had a yearly trip to Hawaii and we own two homes. My husband was an electrician.

Went to Mom and Dad’s for Father’s Day today. My Dad changed the oil in his car this week. He’ll be in 89 in December. My brothers and sister are lucky.
