Happy #ReadABookDay!! If you are looking for recommendations for National Trust bookshops to visit then look no further than Charlecote Park (NT)!! We’ve visited many times over the past couple of years and had many a splendid book from them 📚

So the ‘woke’-bashing ⁦Mail+⁩ lays into ⁦National Trust⁩ again. For doing a bit more to tackle climate change. To be clear we are not banning meat or anything like it, just having a look at making some sensible reductions. RT or like if you stand with us.

Based on extensive field work we can exclusively reveal that National Trust 2nd hand bookshops have recycled products on sale. Maybe Restore Trust should look into such wokey-ness limiting customer choice.

Today’s Trusty Tomes trip is to Hidcote!! We’ve visited a couple of times this year as we love seeing the gardens change throughout the seasons and naturally have ended up in the bookshop a few times. We’ll share more of our thoughts later this week 🪷

It’s time for us to start our Autumn visits and checking out what some of local sites are doing. First up, back to @NTPackwood which is all ready for Halloween. We had a great time discovering Fungi in the grounds before calling into the bookshop.

We were very lucky to be given a sneak peek of Christmas Charlecote Park (NT) last week!! All we’ll say for now is that for anyone planning to visit, you are in for a treat this Christmas. Charlecote reopens the house on this Saturday (November 30th) 🎄

Festive day out to Hanbury decked in 80s retro splendour, and ⁦@NTBaddesley⁩

🎄Getting into the Festive spirit with visits to Hanbury (serious retro 80s makeover here) at @NTBaddesley. Lots of Christmas books available but we settled for a selection of serious French works (being intellectual types don't you know 🤪)

Charlecote Park will be closed on Monday 6 January as we will be taking down the Christmas decorations and the Christmas trail.

ON THIS DAY - 2 Feb 1853 The new church of St Leonard's was opened. Mary Elizabeth Lucy had the old church demolished and a new one built in memory of her late husband George. "The weather was perfect" she wrote, and the church was so full there was no seat for Mary Elizabeth!

Making an appearance around the park and grounds in time for #NationalSnowdropDay - signs that Spring is just around the corner.

TODAY (20 March) is the #Spring Equinox - and the days will become longer as we head for the Summer. We've been for a stroll in the parkland and enjoying the start of a new season.
