Elsewhere… the Seanad has passed legislation from Dr Tom Clonan which would give people with disabilities a legal right to access therapies (not merely an assessment of need). Govt tried to pause the bill’s passage but didn’t appoint any tellers for the vote, so passed uncontested

Another brilliant week in AsIAm HQ. We held training in two very interesting locations, we hosted an amazing community BBQ, we organised local hangouts around the country and launched a toolkit for SMEs to help recruit & retain autistic talent AND that's only some of it!!

The recent teacher conferences highlighted how bad the training programmes are for teaching and supporting children with additional needs. Now the Department want teachers to assess children with additional needs!
