Fantastic news! Congrats Elly Elly Tanaka !

Exciting work on a highly multiplexed single-cell transcriptomic morphogen screen to understand the role of morphogens- their concentration, timing and combinations -on human brain organoid patterning! Congrats Fátima Sanchís-Calleja and the whole team!!!

Yesterday's opening of ETH Zurich's new teaching and research building was a unifying event and showed that ETH Zurich plays an important role on the Schällemätteli Life Science Campus in Basel. D-BSSE, ETH Zurich, Michael Hengartner, Torsten Schwede, Sven Panke, Mustafa Atici, Christian Wolfrum

Huge congratulations Ashley Maynard!!! 👏🍾This is extremely well deserved, so happy for you!!! 🤩It has been a great pleasure and fun to work with you on your excellent PhD projects!!!

A very warm welcome to the D-BSSE, Prisca Liberali !

A very warm welcome at D-BSSE, ETH Zurich Prisca Prisca Liberali !!!! So excited to have you as a colleague!!! 🤩 Also fantastic to have this bridge to FMI science !!

Meet Gisbert Schneider who becomes faculty member at D-BSSE | As of 1 June, ETH Zurich professor and Biochemist/Bioinformatician Gisbert Schneider, is affiliated with D-BSSE. Gisbert is heading the Computer-Assisted Drug Design group > u.ethz.ch/WFGQK

Congrats Johannes Treutlein!!!

Last vision talk is from Treutlein lab presenting on human oranomics: what’s next? And where the merger of single-cell, spatial genomics and #organoid technologies merge! D-BSSE, ETH Zurich BaCell3D

After trying for a year we finally managed to get Karl Koehler as our 2nd keynote speaker for @Bacell3D 2024. Inner ear and skin organoids! Beautiful and inspiring conclusion to the meeting with a historical perspective, applications of the systems, limitations and vision outlook!

Very exciting to see our single-cell epigenomic atlas of human neural organoids published in Nature Neuroscience !!! Fantastic work, Fides Zenk @EpiGN_lab, Jonas Fleck Jonas (josch1@bsky) and the whole team !!! D-BSSE, ETH Zurich Institute of Human Biology

How do cells with the same genetic material differentiate into diverse cell types during early development? In a study Nature Neuroscience led by Treutlein lab and colleagues Institute of Human Biology scientists explore the role of histones in gene expression >u.ethz.ch/KliLL EPFL Life Sciences

My group will be open to host PhD students & rotations for the upcoming Biozentrum, University of Basel Fellowship call We use theoretical physics to understand complex biological systems, from chromosomes to embryos Interested?
