1:41AM: Just a staggering and ludicrous amount of lightning ongoing tonight. Just centered around Graves County alone... over 2,700+ individual bolts in the last 30 minutes!

A Flash Flood Emergency is a rare situation. Seek higher ground immediately and evacuate if you are told to do so if you are placed under one. We have already had one issued tonight, and more are possible through the morning Wednesday. This could be a rare flood event for us.

from 3:17AM this morning... there was likely a downburst of 65-80 MPH winds in the Sedalia, KY area and SE Graves County. Reports of scattered wind damage. If you wake up this morning in these areas, you may be awoken to the sight of locally pronounced wind damage.

A Severe Thunderstorm *Watch* has been issued through 10:00AM today for the center of our region. At times, large hail and a few damaging wind gusts may kick up. But the main concern will be for worsening flash flooding.

5:15AM: The rain (5-7" of rain) that has fell across western Graves, Carlisle, and Hickman counties in the last 6 hours statistically comes out to about *a 1 in 75 (dark purple) year recurrence* interval. Remarkable. Especially for July and not a tropical system remnant!
