At least own up to the impact that your decisions and policies are having on the budget instead of whining to other levels of government. The mayor’s priorities of artificially low property taxes, handouts to his corporate friends, roads, and police are a choice.

An expensive choice that doesn’t benefit ordinary residents of our city, but this is your choice and what you’ve advocated for. So don’t complain that we don’t have any money left for transit or other vital services when you’ve wasted it on your “priorities.”

Austerity is nothing to be proud of. Boasting that you've saved $500 million over 25 years while hundreds of people sleep on the street every night, dozens are dying from toxic overdoses and people can't even get from their house to work on a bus isn't the win you think it is.
