What makes you feel really cool is reading student emails alerting you to the fact that you set your assignment due date on Canvas for 2/13/2010 instead of 2/13 at 10am. My response: "You should have turned this assignment in when you were SEVEN!"

Watching the Senate Ag Committee Nutrition Program hearing from yesterday and I am going to lose my mind listening to senators say things like "more animal protein in school lunches!" and "more whole milk!" when good Lord this is not what we need for nutrition or climate.

What an honor it's been to be with our team this week. Truly impressive and collaborative work; for most team members, this is their first year in MUN. Can't wait to visit the UN General Assembly with this crew tomorrow afternoon!

Final day of NMUN NYC today. Great to be back at the UN in-person after many years away! This team, representing Angola and Seychelles, showed that Titans are collaborative, empowered, compassionate, and knowledgeable leaders ready for whatever the future brings. UW-Oshkosh

The coolest Provosts not only support Model UN but also take selfies with MUNers (and faculty advisers) out in the wilds of NYC. How lucky are we UW-Oshkosh to have Dr. John Koker? (SO lucky.)

What a blessing to have such talented students! GP, graduating PS major, gave a glorious, three instrument recital tonight. This followed Hannah's showstopper recital last week on clarinet. We are so lucky here UW-Oshkosh!

Visiting my parents in Minnesota this week and UW-Oshkosh is never far away! They've labeled these "Dad" and "Deb" to tell them apart when they're sitting on the porch. (Thanks, Admissions!)

One of the best things about having kids is learning new things THEY are interested in. What a privilege to have a window into the worlds of aviation and sports med/PT -- I don't know much about either, but I'm eager to learn! I loved having little kids, but BIG kids? Awesome.

We're having a Hot Chocolate Tasting in our department today and I have to say, listening to the sugar-fueled happy chatter of students and faculty in our hallways is absolutely making my day. RELATIONSHIPS matter, and sometimes it's the ridiculous things that build them best.

Teach 1st-year students? Before you forget, message those students who put themselves out there, who did great work, who asked great questions, who made teaching a joy this semester. This goes for ALL students, but it goes a long way with our 1st-years and it takes only minutes.

An email response I should automate: "Is this actually a Teams meeting, or are we meeting in person?"
