Trips I’m researching right now: - Syria 🇸🇾 entry/visa research & now at internal transport/route - Bulgaria 🇧🇬 Planning a week or so before they adopt the Euro 💶 for train journeys and history - Eritrea 🇪🇷 a short visit, but would be interesting & no guide needed for Asmara

A lot of new Wizz Air routes being announced, but it’s the ‘usual’ destinations dotted around W/C Europe like other budget carriers. What I liked about them was variety, but that isn’t the case with these. I’ll still go to Istanbul and current Eastern Europe routes though.

Train travel and night trains are a huge part of my travels, and I have been looking into the cost of getting from London - Bucharest/Sofia via various trains. The cost is enormous compared to flying and really all you are missing out on is uninteresting cities.

Although, a cheap Wizz Air flight to Vienna (a favourite of mine) and a night trains to Deva, Romania looks appealing. Then gradually travel through Romania to Bulgaria and pair them up. Bulgaria was on my radar before they adopt the euro and very keen to see more of Romania.

It’s a shame I won’t be able to pull off cheap Wizz Air routes like this anymore since the Abu Dhabi exit. Excited though to use a combinations of budget airlines to plan routes like this in the future. Pegasus will be my new favourite airline I think.

I think the base plan for an autumn trip is a flight to Vienna, overnight train to Deva 🇷🇴 then 2-3 weeks through Romania, into Bulgaria and finishing up in Serbia. We’ll just book the night train, first night in Deva and wing the rest. Looking forward to having plans.

The main issue I see with the oasis gigs are that you’re paying £100’s to hear the crowd sing over the band. I can listen to just Oasis driving in my van for free.

Good to be back travel planning again. Can’t think of anything worse than letting AI do this for me and produce awful itineraries with useless information. Planning yourself will always be the best way 🗺️

Iran was already a difficult country to visit with a UK passport, which meant needing a tour. The only reason I hadn’t visited. I was holding out for independent travel in the future. With the new changes it pushes this back even further. One day Iran, one day.

I find it incredible that you can fly from London 🇬🇧 - Pakistan 🇵🇰 for just £79 one way. Couple layovers in Prague/Istanbul with a Wizz Air/Pegasus combination. Carry on only, but that’s all you need. Travel is so cheap.

I’ve seen a few articles mentioning a discussion between Wizz Air and Oman about opening up a low cost hub. After the loss of Wizz Air from Abu Dhabi this would be huge, and an opening back to the Middle East and beyond from Europe. aviationbusinessme.com/airlines/oman-…

Am I the only one who’s not interested in these AI generated images and videos? This has absolutely zero appeal or enjoyment to me.

Anyone have advice on the best way to access the Amazon and where from? Nothing overly touristy or glammed up. I’ve read mixed things on Brazil, Ecuador & Peru for their access to the rainforest.

Travel is on hold for the moment, but I’m still researching trips. I’m planning itineraries for future trips to Bosnia & Herzegovina. Already had multiple Sarajevo trips, a visit to Mostar and a trip Jajce/Travnik. Keen to explore all corners of one of my favourite countries.

Wizz Air appear to be ending their UK operations to Sarajevo from London Luton, which means no longer serving Bosnia & Herzegovina at all. Ryanair are the only option from the UK with flights to Sarajevo. Easy to fly to Montenegro or Croatia and take the bus, but disappointing.
