As part of their Activity Week, the Sixth Form enjoyed a visit to Thorpe Park. The trip was a great way for our Upper and Lower Sixth to bond and celebrate the end of exam period. The students explored the park choosing their favourite rides - Nemesis Inferno was popular!

We were thrilled to invite our gymnasts to an evening of pizza and prizes to finish the competition season. Our national medal count this year came to a whopping 52 gold, 19 silver and 23 bronze medals. We were also crowned the Whole School National Champions for the 9th year!

As part of her Teacher Fellowship Programme, our Director of Humanities, Dr Carrel, recently delivered three workshops in the style of an enquiry. The overarching big question was "How can we explore the progresses of Henry VIII in the 21st Century?".

Our Cookery, Art and Design camp was very popular. The Y7s focused on botanicals, starting the week with a visit to RHS Garden Wisley, while our Year 8s looked at upcycling. Our Year 9s and 10s collaborated to look at food branding, before creating their own bespoke dishes.

Year 6 have been working on a Design Technology project with RGS Prep. Working in groups, they designed their own pizza restaurants themed around sportspeople. Afterwards, they played lawn games from pickleball and table tennis, to the rock, paper and scissors championships!

Last week, we celebrated not only our Year 6 pupils, but all those across Prep who had made significant achievements over the last year. Our guest speaker, Clare Kissin, delivered a speech on what we believe to be fact can easily change, so don't be afraid to ask questions.

...and that's a wrap for 2024/25! We wanted to take this time to wish everyone a relaxing summer break. Our heartfelt thanks also go to this year's TPA who have been invaluable in arranging events and giving up their time so willingly. Have a wonderful summer everyone!

Our Pre-Prep pupils took part in their first Sports Day at the Urnfield. Plenty of stickers were handed out and to end the morning each class took part in a race and a relay. Thank you to our Year 6 sports reps for all your help and congratulations to Curie who won the event.

What's the crime, Mr Wolf? Asked Year 6 in their end of year play, as storybook's most famous villain was put on trial. With plenty of catchy tunes, choreography and even a gymnastics display, we can't wait to see what senior school brings for this talented crew!

We packed so much into our Science Camp for Activity Week: Years 7 and 8 took a trip to @BWCTweets. Years 9 and 10 visited Brooklands Museum. The students then all took part in a carousel of STEM activities before joining together on the last day to visit @Livrainforest.

A group of our Year 10 Spanish students spent their Activity Week in sunny Valencia. The group took part in a paella workshop and tried their hand at cooking the Spanish dish. While Thursday was Flamenco time and saw the class put through their paces! #TormeadGirlsThrive

Our Performing Arts students were anything but revolting as they put on a splendiferous production of Matilda Jr. With three separate casts, each group spent a week perfecting their section of the performance. The students also travelled to London to watch @Mincemeatalive

Our Summer Pre-Prep Production of Pirates vs. Mermaids proved to be a successful sailing featuring fun songs, such as 'We Don't Like Mermaids' and 'Pool Party'. Clashing enemies united in a common interest of the sea, but there was just one problem, these pirates can't swim!

During Activity Week, our Humanities camp spent time exploring some of the highlights of the subject, visiting the Tudor Festival at Hampton Court and touring Guildford to discover local history. They even worked with the school archivist to discover some of Tormead's own past.

Our Year 11 students celebrated the end of their exams with the traditional Tormead strawberry tea and signing of their school shirts before gathering later in the evening for their end of year prom. We wish them all the best for the future!

Our Year 10 MFL students enjoyed an action-packed trip to Germany's capital during Activity Week. They packed a lot into the week from visiting Meng Meng, the giant Panda at @Zoo_Berlin, to exploring the @Spionagemuseum and attempting their luck on the laser maze.

Activity Week saw Tormead on tour as some of our talented cricketers headed to God's own country to play some of the best schools in the north of England. We had two touring squads: an U13 team made up of Year 7 and 8 pupils, and an U15 team comprising of Year 9 and Year 10

Our surfers had a fantastic time during Activity Week - some of them even managed to stand up on their boards by the end of the week! They also got to try coasteering, which they enjoyed despite being slightly apprehensive about having to jump into the sea from a height!
