54 years ago today. One week after my 5th birthday. You were gone. Assassinated for answering a call to conscience, for speaking truth to power, for being a drum major for justice who sought to rid the world of racism, militarism and poverty. I miss you. Still. Always.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to the families of love ones loss & injured at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX! Like when is enough enough man!!! These are kids and we keep putting them in harms way at school. Like seriously "AT SCHOOL" where it's suppose to be the safest!

Someone killed 14 children and 1 teacher at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX. I’m wholly devastated. We live in a society where power absolutely refuses to protect our children. How many more kids have to die before power makes radical changes to these horrific conditions?

It's very disturbing that a party that is willing to let women suffer & die to ensure fetuses are carried to term won't protect actual living children by restricting gun ownership in sensible ways.

It takes a monster to kill children. But to watch monsters kill children again and again and do nothing isn’t just insanity—it’s inhumanity.

And when and if power refuses to protect our kids, then we must organize and challenge power like the lives of our kids depend on it; we must seize power like the lives of kids depend on it. Our kids lives are on the line.

Across the country, parents are putting their children to bed, reading stories, singing lullabies—and in the back of their minds, they’re worried about what might happen tomorrow after they drop their kids off at school, or take them to a grocery store or any other public space.

We’re also angry for them. Nearly ten years after Sandy Hook—and ten days after Buffalo—our country is paralyzed, not by fear, but by a gun lobby and a political party that have shown no willingness to act in any way that might help prevent these tragedies.

A reminder that in Texas K-12 students are banned from being taught the #1619 project, but an 18-year-old can purchase multiple assault weapons.

BREAKING: Oklahoma's governor just signed into law a bill that bans abortion entirely, effective immediately. This ban deputizes private citizens to act as bounty hunters and sue friends, family, and anyone else assisting someone in getting an abortion.

It should be obvious now who among us loves killing machines more than children; who among us is moved to make policy by fears over losing guns and is unmoved by grief over losing children; who among us wants to live in a nation that protects its guns better than its children.

Overturning Roe v. Wade is a “historic victory for white life” — a clear as day statement showing exactly what this is all about. WE NEED TO WAKE UP. The times of old were not good for most and this is the movement in motion to take us back there. WE MUST SHOW OUT IN 2022 & VOTE

A hurtful read, especially thinking about all of my Black brothers and sisters out there. Systemic change is required. It’s easy to think “those are just a few bad apples” but systemic change is the only way to transform policing and make our communities safer for ALL.
