Everyone starts in different situations, but getting your working lactate towards 1.0mMol over time is such a great accomplishment. Opens up all kinds of performance benefits. This athlete has done a great job always being in range, not trying to AVG the ceiling.

From 13 to 42yrs old. Bringing new stimuli, getting buy-in, results starting to show. Hardly any specific work. Focused mechanics and "good" swimming. Needed to believe in myself as a coach again. Easy to feel eternal imposter syndrome in social media world. #swimcoach #swimming

Work on a plan, allow it to be fluid, respect the systems integration, and have a blast on race day achieving things you set out for.

There are still far too many athletes who believe quality means "intensity" or superior to quantity. “Quality is not synonymous with intensity” - quality is the degree of excellence related to how training sessions are executed to optimize adaptations" Tønnessen et al, 2024.

What gets measured, gets managed. However you do it. Track something and follow it long term to make not going down the wrong paths.
