SMHS is about to kick into full “Holiday Spirit” fun! Here is a little sneak peek of “We have SPIRIT, yes we do!” 🎅 🎄🤶🏻

1/3 My district has around 300 unfilled positions with subs in those spots currently. Just four years ago the number was 160. Despite pleading with representatives in WV Legislature another session has passed with little to no changes.

2/3 Every year we say it can't get any worse, and it gets worse. The teacher shortage here means my three kids will spend some days sitting in an auditorium w/other classes being monitored by an adult bc there's no sub for her teacher that's home sick.

3/3 Or they'll have a revolving door of subs teaching their HS math class. They'll have other teachers in the building covering her class during their plan periods. This is a tough situation and I'm a concerned parent with three kids in the system.
