#Elephants, unlike people, use their #trunks to help them drink, but they only suck the water part of the way up and then use their trunks to squirt the water into their mouths. #Hwange

#Elephant families come to #water once a day to drink, bathe & play, so you can imagine how thirsty they are when they get there. Elephants can also drink up to 50 gallons/ 200 litres of water a day, about as much as a standard bathtub holds. #HwangeNationalPark

Rolling around in the mud is more than just fun for #elephants. It not only cools them down, but provides a protective layer to shield their body from the sun’s rays and it also provides relief from insect bites. #mudbath #Hwange

While #elephants may look like they are having so much fun, mud baths serve a critical purpose. It helps them cool off under harsh sunlight, acts as a protective layer and shields them from insect bites.

The #Cheetah is the fastest land animal reaching a speed of 100km/h in just three seconds. It can go from top speed to a standstill in just three strides, which is equally impressive.
