Day 1 - Quatre Bras. Hard, brutal, relentless infantry fighting as the French tried to batter through the Allied lines, with reinforcements being hurled into the melee as they arrived. Fantastic - small’ - warmup game as we reacquainted ourselves with the rules. #Wargaming

Home safely & reflecting on a bucket list wargaming hobby experience - playing ‘The Hundred Days’ Napoleonic campaign. After months of planning & painting, it was 3 days of epic wargaming w/1000s of figures, an awesome table, and some of the very best people I know. #Wargaming

Day 2 - Waterloo. The main event. Thunderous clashes of cavalry, with relentless grind of brutal infantry combat across the length of the front. My British Foot Guards alongside 3rd British Inf Div held the centre..but only just. Breathtakingly tense & great fun! #Wargaming

Day 3 - Ligny. Back to the start - with the Prussians. Amidst the villages & hamlets, our Line and Landwehr attempted to resist the weight of French Infantry & Cavalry who threw themselves repeated at our lines and squares. Again, we held.. but with terrible cost! #Wargaming

Didn’t start the year with 28mm Big Battle Napoleonics on my 2025 Hobby Bingo card, but when the call to arms came I could not refuse. Based on the 1st Prussian Infantry Brigade (Division), from March to June - a full 9 inf bns with Comd & artillery were finished. #Wargaming

Two cracking games of Littoral Commander: The Baltic this evening, with honours even to Red and Blue Forces. Absolutely superb game design - simple core engine; challenging tactical decision-making and understanding of inter-linking elements/effects. Just brilliant! #Wargaming
