Everyone deserves clean water + a healthy river. Today is the day we speak up with one voice to support frontline efforts to save the 10 #MostEndangeredRivers in America. Join me in taking action for these rivers & the communities that depend on them: endangeredrivers.americanrivers.org

I recently had the honor to meet with Nez Perce Tribe Vice Chair Shannon Wheeler and witnessed the return of coho to Lapwai Creek. Deep admiration and respect for the Nez Perce Tribe's leadership. Elected leaders must heed the tribe's urgent call to remove the four lower Snake dams.

Great to spend time with Secretary Deb Haaland on Maryland's free-flowing Patapsco River at the former site of Bloede Dam, discussing the importance of investing federal #infrastructure funding to remove outdated, unsafe dams. āPerhaps the most important lesson from the Elwha is that rivers are wonderfully resilient and will support us ā and all life ā if we have the collective courage and vision to set them free.ā - Tom Kiernan American Rivers bit.ly/3m1yfaw The Seattle Times

Thank you Senator Dianne Feinstein, Steve Daines, Sen. Maria Cantwell, Sen. Lisa Murkowski & ARCHIVE: Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster for your ongoing work to find legislative solutions to tackle the challenges and opportunities posed by the nationās dams. It's vital to river health and climate resilience.

āThere is nothing more quintessentially American than our public lands and waters. Protecting the places that make our nation beautiful and provide so many essential services to us is something that must continue to unite us,ā -Tom Kiernan, President and CEO, American Rivers.

This is a momentous win for conservation and a powerful reminder that Americans deeply value our public lands and waters. That was made crystal clear by the remarkable, bipartisan outcry opposing the liquidation of our natural heritage. Full statement: americanrivers.org/media-item/milā¦

A win for wild rivers! Thank you Rep Ryan Zinke for introducing the Greater Yellowstone Recreation Enhancement and Tourism Act, which would protect nearly 100 miles of Montana's rivers under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.
