Oct. 17 (Tuesday) is the average date of the first fall frost in Champaign-Urbana, but the outlook through next Saturday is for lows well above 32 degrees. Coldest temp so far this fall was 36 degrees on Oct. 10.

Looks like Champaign-Urbana's first frost of the season will be Monday morning, with a forecast low of 30 degrees. The last frost was on April 24 (27 degrees) which makes for a 188-day growing season, just about average.
