Kunio Okawara was considered as mechanical designer for the 1989 tokusatsu sci-fi film, GUNHED. But, likely due to scheduling conflicts with 0080, Toho & Sunrise went with Macross creator/designer Shoji Kawamori. Though, Okawara's RXR-44 in GUNDAM F91 looks similar to GUNHED. 🤔
