Finals week - When you constantly ask yourself "is it too early to drink?"

On the 4th anniversary of this account, I would like to think back to my first faculty senate meeting, when I realized how ridiculous academia was. On this day, I sit in a new university, at my first senate meeting, waiting for the same ridiculousness, just in a different state.

Everyone in this meeting as some form of graduate degree, but yet this presentation is being directly read to us slide-by-slide. With a heavy dose of "ummm"s. Perfect.

My favorite character in every faculty meeting is the bitter, older, white dude who is angry about everything but just wants to vent with "concerns not questions." Every time he raises his hand, I smile in anticipation.
