Update on my brain tumor. Dr ordered several blood tests. They returned normal levels except the last one. Seems I’m 3x the growth hormone that I should. Based on that she has ordered additional testing and the results will have a direct impact on surgery.

Haven’t shared a lot here but I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January Monday I had a test that would determine more on it. Tonight I’ve heard from my Epidemiologist. She’s recommending to my Neurosurgeon to schedule surgery to remove it. Here we go…

Update on my brain tumor. Had a call with my neurosurgeon. Based on latest tests he’s expediting the surgery. He’s expecting to schedule within next 2-3 weeks. Fortunately, they will be able to get to it through my sinuses. I’ll be in the hospital 24 hrs and off work for a week.

Well, I finally have a date set. Brain tumor surgery is scheduled for first thing in the morning on October 17th. At least I now know when it’s getting evicted.

Well, certainly not the birthday present I was hoping for. I heard from a nurse for one of the three surgeons that they already have a surgery scheduled for 10/17, so my surgery isn’t happening that day. They’re currently looking at rescheduling for 11/14, but still TBD. 😞

Was not expecting presents for my birthday and wasn’t initially pleased when I found out that Jedi Kraken and @ArcaneLumi had conspired to send me a couple items. Once I saw them, I laughed and appreciated the items. The shirt is definitely going to the hospital with me. 🤣🤣

I received one of the nicest compliments today. I was at Phoenix City Grille and one of the regulars said, “I always like when you’re here. You’re so normal.” It seems like such a simple statement but I understood how meaningful it was for them to say it.

I spent the day at Mayo for final rounds of tests to clear me for surgery. I met with the anesthesiologist this afternoon and he said everything looked good and I should be good to go on Tuesday. Time to evict this tumor in my head.

Got discharged! It was a day later than initially expected because my cortisol levels were a bit high, but they’re significantly lower today. From here I am heading to some friends house for a few days before heading home. It always feels good when all the IV tubes are removed.
