BBC Woman's Hour Divya Talwar Gill Walton Clare McDonnell This has been labelled a national enquiry but in reality is a rapid review. This doesn’t go far enough. An urgent statutory public enquiry is what is needed. If it had been done years ago. I wouldn’t have been harmed.

Maternity safety starts with truth. Wes Streeting’s words yesterday are welcome, but change needs courage, honesty, and action. Not by just 10 trusts, but by the whole of maternity services. #MaternitySafety #WomensHealth #NHS #PatientSafety

A single third trimester scan is all it would have taken to save Grace. I pushed to have a scan, because I was concerned and was ignored. If these were standard, it would have happened and she would be here. I’d say the cost of a dead child outweighs the cost of an extra scan.

To be fair BabylossMummy has been very vocal to them on this matter. I should know I share the car ride home with her after our meetings. The GMC will tell you there’s no evidence of this… they lie 🤘🐍

Gill Walton I ask yourself & the RCM to rethink your stance on a full national inquiry. 1) If every midwife, MSW, sonographer, etc. already knows what's going wrong then why are 800+ babies still dying preventable deaths every year? Why are NICE guidelines not being followed?

If our 50 best people to run the NHS include these 3 with these track histories, 2 things are true: we don't *HAVE* 50 best and the "best" cannot be trusted Wes Streeting @safe_mater

“The big mistake I’ve made in my first year is approaching that issue...in what I'd describe as a conventional way of doing government policy." Health secretary @WesStreeting admits he mishandled the early stages of the government’s maternity policy. @AdamBoultonTABB

Part of an email sent out to all NUH staff from the chief exc today. Harriet should be starting Y5 tomorrow. Her 5 yr old sis said she is sad and lonely and just wished her big sis was alive. Our lives ruined yet some staff continue to abuse us #Accountability Wes Streeting

Looking back at my hope & naivety is heartbreaking. 6 years ago today contractions began. 7 days later my little girl was born & died 23 mins later due to NUH neglect. Our lives shattered, stuck in an avoidable nightmare. I feel so stupid, but mostly just broken. 💔 #maternity

Multiple hospitals with a "requires improvement" maternity CQC rating, but shortlisted by Health Service Journal awards for maternity award. This is so misleading for expectant parents. Why is a safe unit is not a base requirement for these awards?
