Modern goaltending makes goals possible, goals which otherwise would not be possible. But don’t dare to mention this to the goaltending gurus who with a madman’s stubbornness insist that this style is only one that counts. When will the goalies themselves realize the flaws of it?

Young goalies used to have fun using their quick reflexes and athletic ability to make glove saves and leg saves, now it’s about big equipment, dropping in position and blocking the puck, getting hit by the puck as opposed to making saves really doesn’t look like it’d be much fun
