I look forward to the day when I can talk about Iron Man without Marketing detonating the bomb in my skull. The team’s doing some really cool stuff. :)

I was in musicals back in school and I’ve worked with computers for decades soooo can I update my bio to “veteran of stage and screen”?

It's pretty cool how the market is all-in on AI, such that if the AI enthusiasts are *right* then the entire white collar world is about to implode but if they're *wrong* then we'll have a global depression when the market realizes it. Either way, everything's coming up Milhouse!

Hades II is brilliant in a lot of ways, but I’m particularly fond of the “just skip the type of minigame you don’t like” design for familiars.

I have long since played all the Ultimas, and even their NES and SNES ports, but somehow I had no idea that they made Ultima IV for the Sega Master System. It was never released in the US but I’m playing now and wow, it’s a *way* better port than any of the others.

Oil is the most Lovecraftian thing that actually exists. You're telling me that there's a black ichor under the earth, made from the ancient dead, whose burning can realize all the dreams of man but only at the price of slowly returning the earth to its primordial state?

I have at last defeated Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar, for the SEGA Master System. Those quality-of-life improvements in this version were definitely appreciated but still, the Abyss is no joke. VERAMOCOR!

Nostalgia is so unbridled in its madness that there is no year so miserable that somebody isn't wistfully longing for it. I've seen memes from people wishing they could return to the peaceful seclusion of lockdown.

My hard copies of MCDM’s Draw Steel arrived this week. Gotta say I’m really pleased with the quality of the print and binding—good stuff!

Behold my probably-contentious ranking of all the Monkey Island games: 1 - Curse of MI 2 - Secret of MI 3 - Tales of MI 4 - MI2 5 - Return to MI 6 - Escape from MI
