Having high standards in a field doesn't *feel* like having high standards. It feels like everyone else has bafflingly low standards and almost no one is even trying.

How do I convince someone that if something is required you should show an error if it's missing, as opposed to doing the wrong thing silently? It seems so obvious to me, yet I see this issue a lot and leaves a bad feeling of "why are you letting me fail if you know it's wrong?"

hot take: any software engineer who is circumcized should be cut within the next 3 months not only are they inefficient, but they also don't have skin in the game.

Several months? Brother just fucking use it 1 day, you clearly are not dogfooding your OS internally. It takes even less than a day with an average PC if you have a slight idea of how powerful today's technology is.

I just realized it's possible to load in memory multiple snapshots of something. which makes total sense: as long as you have the memory and know the size of each snapshot, you just load them in adjacent regions and gain so much doing it. why didn't I think of it before

I'm trying to implement the very first Deterministic Simulation Testing engine with the aid of an LLM on a project with a code intelligence harness I built with the same LLM Wish me luck, shit's probably gonna break a thousand times

For some reason, hermes-agent becomes completely dumb when I use jackrong qwen3.5 27b, but is somewhat autonomous (given the right task) when using samuelcardillo qwen3.5 35b A3B I don't understand why yet, "on paper" the 27b has better scores from what I found online
