Most likely found up a mountain or listening to Bruce Springsteen. I used to tweet about politics, I now mostly post about music. BBC by day. (S)W1A.

Yep, even from the very back of Wembley this show is as phenomenal as everybody says it is. What a spectacle. And incredibly moving to feel the energy of 92,000 devoted fans in one place particularly after *everything*.

This is a good summary of how low this place has dipped and why it nonetheless remains hard to leave newstatesman.com/comment/2024/0…

At risk of causing a national drop in productivity, has everyone seen that the BBC is live-streaming the annual weigh in at London Zoo? bbc.co.uk/news/live/clyw…

James Graham is so right about this. The BBC has set a target of 25% of staff to be from a lower socio-economic background by end of the Charter but there's much more to do including across the wider industry. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

I was there about 3 rows from the front - I'm sure you can see me on this video somewhere. Spectacular ending to what is still one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Only let down by the fact we had to stand in a field from 9am and the small matter of them pulling the plug!

I think this was one of my favourite BBC Proms of the season tonight. Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition - genuinely stunning and what a triumph of an ending.

My favourite example of this was when I was recently threatened with a £100 fine for having a Super Off Peak rather than an Off Peak ticket. Genuine mistake but fair enough. What really annoyed me was that due to a quirk in the system both tickets were *exactly the same price*.

This far me is a far bigger issue than "traditional" touting via StubHub etc. Official sale platforms inflating the price because of demand which naturally means they go for sky high figures at the moment they go on-sale. "Face value" isn't really a thing any more in this world.

The one positive to come out of today’s ticket fiasco is awareness has been massively raised about the practice of dynamic pricing. This is a far more pressing issue for consumers than rip-off touts. thetimes.com/article/7cbd34…

Essential reading for anyone who wants to understand what has really happened to #BBC funding over the last couple of decades, what the truth is on accusations of political bias and who really benefits from the ongoing criticisms.
